Bizarre decisions about the ‘F’ word – Dr. Carsten Albrecht`s interview with DIE WELT

The daily newspaper Die Welt talked to Dr. Carsten Albrecht, an FPS trademark expert from Hamburg, regarding the decision of the European General Court to continue to disallow the film title "Fack ju Göhte," a European Union trademark.

He pointed out that EU Regulation no. 207/2009 does, indeed, exclude trademark registrations that are "contrary to public policy or to accepted principles of morality." However, this is meant to prevent "serious deviations" and such an extreme case is certainly present in this particular instance, according to Dr. Albrecht.
